Mardi Gras Ball 2024

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School will host our Biennial Auction with a Mardi Gras Ball at the Crowne Plaza at Ravinia.

This event helps us make significant enhancements to our school and programs while having a great time. This year's focus will be various track and field improvements including the addition of a 6-foot wide walking track around the soccer fields. It also promises new friendships, lots of laughter, and wonderful memories! We host an entertaining live auction, silent auction, exciting games with fabulous prizes, raffles and much, much more!

History of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School

September 4, 1962 marked the official opening of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School. Kindergarten and grades 1-4 were staffed by five lay teachers, and Father Stapleton assumed the role of principal. The school, built on a portion of 17 acres of land donated by the Spalding family, housed 150 students in the "west corridor" of the building, while the "east corridor" was the temporary church. The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart of Philadelphia, led by Sister Sally White as Principal, came to the school in the fall of 1963. With the arrival of the sisters, grades K through 8 were staffed and, in June 1964, Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School graduated its first class with 18 students.
